SAN ANTONIO (July 4, 2013)--Authorities have identified a San Antonio woman who was kidnapped from her home earlier this week and later killed as she tried to escape as Yvette Ramos, 21.
Ramos was shot to death Tuesday by her kidnapper as she tried to get out of the vehicle he was driving.
Authorities mounted a search for Ramos after the kidnapping and a Bexar County deputy spotted her and the man in a car on a road south of San Antonio.
The kidnapper killed her as she tried to escape.
She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
The kidnapper, whose name hasn’t been released, died of a gunshot wound.
Sheriff's spokesman Paul Berry says authorities are investigating whether the deputy shot the man or if he shot himself.
