FORNEY (September 19, 2012)—Forney police confirmed Wednesday they’re investigating a deadly shooting at the home of former Baylor University football player Krystopher Thomas Buerck, 23.
Officers were dispatched to the home shortly after 4 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Trailwood Court in Forney in response to a report of a disturbance during which shots were fired.
Officers contacted Buerck outside the house, police said, and inside found William Franklin Trimble III, 23, of Desoto lying on the floor.
Trimble was taken to an area hospital, but later died, police said Wednesday.
Buerck was taken to the Forney Police Department where he was questioned and then released at around 10:45 a.m. Monday.
“Due to the circumstances and the evidence available at this time, this case is being forwarded to the grand jury to determine if charges will be filed,” Forney police said in a press release Wednesday.
No other details were released.
Buerck, a standout at Mesquite High School, played four seasons at Baylor from 2007 to 2010.
