Police Investigate Theft That Occurred During Service At Local Church

KILLEEN (March 11 2013)--Killeen police were investigating Monday after a woman reported her wallet was stolen during services Sunday at Central Christian Church off Trimmier Road near Highway 190.

The woman told officers the wallet was stolen after she left her purse in the pew while she went to the restroom.

A member of the church who asked to remain anonymous said an unidentified man was sitting in a back row Sunday and said the victim introduced herself to him before the service began early Sunday morning.

The member said he hadn't seen the man at services before.

The member said when the woman returned from the restroom both her wallet and the man were missing.

A description of the man was not available Monday.

In November at the same church a vandal, claiming to be the ambassador to Guam, spray-painted graffiti all over a back parking lot.
