Police Investigate Fatal Auto Pedestrian Accident

KILLEEN (December 25, 2013) Police in Killeen were investigating a vehicle pedestrian crash Wednesday night, after the department says a man ran into oncoming traffic in the 2500 block of East Highway 190.

When first responders arrived on scene, an unresponsive male was laying in the median of the highway and a silver Ford Mustang was stopped on the side of the roadway.

According to Killeen police, witnesses told officers they saw a man standing in the median when for unknown reasons; he ran into oncoming eastbound traffic and was struck by the Mustang.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced 20-year-old Warren Keaton Cook III, from Killeen, dead at the scene a little after 5 p.m.

No autopsy has been ordered as of Wednesday night.

A male and female who were occupying the Mustang during the crash weren’t hurt.
