DALLAS (August 11, 2014) Dallas police officers shot and killed a knife-wielding 18-year-old Monday afternoon who authorities say stabbed three members of his family.
The teenager, who wasn’t immediately identified, was holding two knives when he confronted the officers in the front yard of a home.
The officers shot him after he continued to approach and refused to comply with their orders to drop the weapons, police said.
He remained combative after he was shot and officers were forced to use a stun gun to subdue him, police said.
The teenager later died at a hospital.
The three family members he stabbed were also taken to a hospital and were in serious condition.
Their names weren’t immediately released.
An argument at the home preceded the stabbings, police said.
