HOUSTON (September 14, 2012)--Houston police officers shot and killed a man who stabbed three other guests at a party to celebrate an upcoming wedding, authorities said Friday.
Police spokesman Kese Smith said Friday that two officers opened fire when the man refused to put down a knife and then charged toward them.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday night.
Smith says the stabbings happened at a residence where people were gathering in preparation for a wedding.
Police are trying to determine what led to an argument and then the stabbings.
All three victims were taken to a hospital.
Smith said one victim has critical injuries, another is in serious condition and the third person has minor wounds.
Their names weren't immediately released.
Police did not provide additional information on the wedding plans.
