WACO (February 15, 2013)--Waco police asked for the public's help Friday in finding an 18-wheeler whose driver left the scene of an accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 35 accident that sent a woman to a local hospital.

Detectives are searching for an older model dull blue truck-tractor that sideswiped a 2008 Mercury 4-door sedan at about 5 p.m. Tuesday near the Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard exit on Interstate 35, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Friday in a press release.

The 30-year-old woman who was driving the Mercury was injured.

She was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.

Her name wasn’t released.

The driver of the truck stopped briefly after the collision and then drove off, exiting on MLK, Swanton said.

Detectives are asking that anyone who might have seen the accident or can identify the truck to call Waco police at (254) 750-3656.
