Police Make Arrest In Abduction Of Texas Girl, 6

HOUSTON (January 30, 2014) Houston made an arrest early Thursday in the abduction of a 6-year-old girl who escaped from her kidnapper by telling a customer in a store to which she was taken that she had been kidnapped.

Joaquin Ramos, 23, was charged with kidnapping.

Investigators say the girl did not appear harmed during the hour-long abduction Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the girl and her mother drove into an apartment complex garage where the woman unloaded the vehicle.

The girl was standing nearby when a man forced her into his SUV and drove off.

Later, police say the man took the girl to a Target store where she went into the bathroom and told a customer about the abduction.

The man fled, but some of his relatives saw news reports about the kidnapping and contacted police.
