TEMPLE (August 27, 2013)--Dustin Keith Chlapek, 26, of Temple, remained in the Bell County Jail Tuesday charged with aggravated robbery in the armed holdup in May of a local drug store.
He was arrested Monday at a home in the 1300 block of South 13th Street in Temple.
His bond was set at $150,000.
The charge stems from a holdup at around 9 a.m. on May 25 at the Westside Drug Store at 1516 South 31st St. in Temple.
Employees told officers a man who had been sitting outside near the store entered the business just as it opened, produced a black handgun and demanded money.
He escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as some merchandise, police said.
Investigators received a tip on Aug. 4 that the man who robbed the store was seen getting into a gold vehicle, which officers located and stopped in the 2100 block of West Avenue M.
Officers identified Chlapek as the driver.
A warrant for his arrest was issued late last week.
