WACO (September 27, 2013)—D’Aaryn Luke, 17, of Waco, who was missing for more than a month, has contacted her family after police asked for the public’s help in finding her, authorities said Friday.
Luke called her family “after seeing herself on last night’s news broadcast,” Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Friday.
“She reported to them that she was OK and would come home sometime (Friday),” Swanton said.
Luke’s mother reported the girl missing on Sept. 1, 2013 and told officers the teenager was last seen in mid-August at her grandmother’s home in Collin in East Texas.
“D’Aaryn left her grandmother’s home, telling family she was going to another relative’s house, but she never arrived,” Swanton said.
Relatives thought the girl may be with whom Swanton described as a male acquaintance in the Killeen area.
