WACO (December 4, 2013) Waco police were searching for two men Wednesday after another man was shot late Tuesday night inside his Trice Avenue home.
Officers were sent just before 10 p.m. Tuesday to an address in the 2700 block of Trice Avenue where a caller reported a man had been shot.
Investigators learned Michael Allen Gillman, 25, answered a knock at his front door a short time earlier and was confronted by two men who asked him for money for gasoline.
When Gillman refused and tried to close the door, the two men forced their way inside the house where one of them pulled a handgun and shot Gillman in the abdomen, Waco police Sgt. W#. Patrick Swanton said in a news release.
Gillman was taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of a non-life threatening injury, Swanton said.
Police had not provided a description of the suspects other than that they both were black men and both were wearing hooded sweatshirts.
Both men fled the scene on foot, Swanton said.
No arrests had been made Wednesday morning.
Swanton said there were others inside the house when the shooting happened but all said they had seen nothing.
