KILLEEN (December 18, 2012)—Two suspected burglars led Killeen police on a chase Tuesday that ended in a foot pursuit during which officers used a Taser to subdue one of the men.

The men are suspected in a burglary Monday at a home in the 4500 block of Windcrest Drive in Killeen from which a car, guns and other property were taken.

Investigators were conducting surveillance Tuesday on a house at an undisclosed location where the burglars were believed to be staying when two men emerged at around 11 a.m., got into a Toyota Corolla and drove off, police said.

The officers followed the car, but when they tried to pull it over in the area of FM 439 and North Roy Reynolds Drive, the driver sped off.

The chase ended after the 29-year-old driver pulled into a mobile home park at 101 North Roy Reynolds and he and the 27-year-old passenger jumped out and began to run.

Officers caught one man and used a Taser to subdue the other.

After paramedics checked on the second man, the two were arrested, police said.

A third man, who’s 21, was arrested at an undisclosed location in connection with the same burglary, police said.

Officers searched the Toyota and recovered stolen property including two handguns, police said.

The Nissan Xterra that was stolen during the burglary Monday was found in Harker Heights and investigators have recovered items taken in several other burglaries valued at more than $20,000.

Additional arrests are possible, police said.
