TEMPLE (June 19, 2012)—Temple police surrounded the Texas Inn Tuesday morning at 3309 North General Bruce Dr., shortly after an armed holdup at a nearby convenience store and arrested two teenagers who were inside a room at the motel.

Police identified the two Tuesday afternoon as Larry Banks, 18, and Torrey Jackson, 18, both of Temple.

They were both taken to the Bell County Jail where they’re facing aggravated robbery charges stemming from the holdup at around 10:25 a.m. Tuesday at the Quix convenience store at 710 Industrial Blvd.

The clerk told officers the two robbers entered the store with their faces covered and that one displayed a handgun.

The two escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.

Officers determined they went into a room at the motel, established a perimeter and made the arrests without incident.
