COLLEGE STATION (July 18, 2014) College Station firefighters rescued a pregnant woman who ended up stranded in high water as she drove to a hospital early Friday morning after experiencing contractions.
Heavy rain produced flooding on Highway 30 between Highway 6 and the entrance College Station’s Veterans Park and the woman’s vehicle got stuck in a long stretch of high water shortly after midnight Friday morning, KBTX-TV reported.
Firefighters drove a College Station Fire Department truck across the flooded highway to reach the woman, and then took her to a waiting vehicle in which she was taken to College Station Medical Center, KBTX reported.
A medical center supervisor told KBTX mother and her soon-to-be born child were both fine.
