Public Meeting Scheduled On Texas Earthquake Outbreak

AZLE (December 24, 2013) Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter will host a public forum next week with people who live in an area of North Texas plagued by an outbreak of minor earthquakes.

The commission is in charge of regulating oil and gas operations.

The area about 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth recorded more than a dozen small earthquakes in November.

U.S. Geological Survey reported two minor quakes this week, both 3.3-magnitude earthquakes that were centered near Reno.

Authorities are trying to determine what's been causing the earthquakes.

The meeting is Jan. 2 in Azle.
