WACO (September 20, 2013)--A portion of Interstate 35 in Waco was closed late Friday morning after two 18-wheelers and a passenger car were involved in a crash that was likely weather-related.

The small car was southbound between the trucks when traffic slowed and the drivers of first truck and the car began slowing down, police at the said.

The driver of the second truck was not able to slow quickly enough and the car was crushed between the two rigs.

The Jaws of Life were used to free the driver from the wreckage of the car.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

His name and information about his condition weren’t immediately available.

Both truck drivers were uninjured, police said.

The accident happened in the area of the New Road exit.
