WACO (July 22, 2011)—A Waco man and woman were free on bond Monday after their arrest in connection with a robbery police say was faked.

The charges against Ashley Fraga, 19, and Tevin Clark, 20, stem from the report of a robbery last month at the Family Dollar store at 718 North New Road, where Fraga worked.

Fraga reported the robbery at around at 9:30 p.m. on June 30, police said.

She told officers she was in the back of the store counting receipts when a masked man came in and demanded money.

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said investigators later determined that Fraga and Clark planned the fake robbery and planned to take off with the cash.

She was charged with theft over $1,500 and making a false report to a police officer and was freed after posting $3,500 bond.

Clark was charged with theft over $1,500.

He was freed after posting a $3,000 bond.
