ATLANTA (August 19, 2013)—A teenager and a pregnant woman were killed and three other people were injured when the SUV in which they were riding overturned over the weekend on a highway in East Texas.
The SUV was on U.S. Highway 59 in Cass County when the driver veered right and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll Saturday just southwest of the small town of Atlanta, the Department of Public Safety said.
All five people were from McCaskill, Ark.
Sawyer Hill, 13, and Kayla Quinonez, 23, who was pregnant, were killed.
The driver, Nova Hill, 39, and a passenger, Kelli Quinonez, 15, were taken to a hospital in Shreveport, La., and a third passenger, Mark Hill, 44, was taken to a hospital in Atlanta.
Nova and Mark Hill were the only ones wearing seatbelts.
