KATY (June 27, 2014) Just two of the 36 people injured Thursday when a floor collapsed during a religious event in a detached garage at a home in Katy remained in the hospital Friday.
No information about the two victims was being released, West I-10 Fire Department spokesman Tim Thomas said Friday.
Most of the 36 people taken to hospitals Thursday, had only minor injuries.
The collapse occurred while as many as 125 people gathered for the event at the suburban Houston home.
At least 40 people were in an apartment above a detached garage when the floor gave way.
Thomas said Friday the floor had not "pancaked in" as first reported but that only a portion of the floor collapsed.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
