BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (August 7, 2013)—A child who was seriously injured when an SUV backed over him in the parking lot outside of Bruceville-Eddy High School Tuesday night was flown to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
The accident happened at around 9 p.m. Tuesday as the driver of SUV was pulling out of the parking lot outside the high school’s gym following an athletic event, apparently a football practice.
Bruceville-Eddy police Chief Bill McLean declined to release the victim’s name or age Wednesday, but confirmed the child was seriously injured.
McLean said the accident is under investigation.
Bruceville-Eddy fire units, along with police from Moody and Lorena also responded to the scene to assist, McLean said.
