SUV-Bicycle Accident Near Texas Campus Leaves 3 Dead

LUBBOCK (January 30, 2012)--Three people have died in an accident involving a bicycle and an SUV near the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock.

The accident happened at around 1 a.m. Sunday near the campus.

A bicyclist and two people who were riding in the SUV died and a third passenger in the SUV was injured.

Investigators believe the SUV was traveling south when it went over a center median curb and collided with a bicycle whose rider may have been crossing the street.

The SUV then hit a fire hydrant before rolling over.
