SUV Slams Into Entrance Of Local Bank; One Person Injured

TEMPLE (July 28, 2014) An SUV crashed through the entrance of a bank building Monday morning in Temple, sending one person to the hospital and causing significant damage to the building.

The accident was reported just after 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Compass Bank building at 1004 Marlandwood Rd.

Three people were riding in the SUV at the time of the crash, one of whom was injured and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center non-life-threatening injuries, Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal said.

The bank was open for business at the time of the crash, but no one inside was injured.

Construction engineers were at the scene assessing damage to the building, Pechal said.

Temple police are investigating the crash.
