AMARILLO (September 24, 2012)—Police found a stolen SUV with a 1-month-old infant inside after the driver of the Toyota RAV4 left the car running outside a Toot'n Totum store Monday in Amarillo.
The Amarillo Globe-News reported that the driver, Luis Acevedo, left his newborn nephew in a car seat when he went into the store.
While he was inside, authorities say someone jumped into the car and started driving away.
Authorities began a search for the vehicle, but it turned up a short time later outside a local motel.
The infant was still inside and unharmed.
Authorities continue to search for the man who tried to drive away with the SUV and the baby.
