SUV Strikes, Kills Woman Walking Along I-35 Early Friday

ITASCA (November 2, 2012)--A woman died early Friday morning after she was struck by an SUV while she was walking along the Interstate in Itasca.

Itasca police Sgt. Don Costerison said the woman, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was walking south along the highway at around 3:30 a.m. Friday when she was struck.

Costerison said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was sent to Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, in Dallas, for autopsy.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Traffic was diverted while emergency crews were at the scene.

The Department of Public Safety assisted in the accident investigation.
