ARLINGTON (October 28, 2013) A man suspected of opening fire early Monday at an apartment complex in Arlington, killing one person, surrendered to police after a 7½-hour standoff.
Arlington police Lt. Christopher Cook says the man surrendered at around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers evacuated about 25 residents from the complex.
Police responded at around 6 a.m. Monday to 911 reports about shots fired.
He said the suspect also fired at officers who secured the scene.
No officers were reported hurt.
Cook couldn't immediately provide details on a possible motive for the shootings at the complex in North Arlington.
Joel Jonas White was in the Arlington City Jail late Monday afternoon charged with murder.
His bond was set at $250,000.
