FORT WORTH (December 21, 2013) Bundles of gifts for eight needy families have been stolen from a Salvation Army warehouse in Arlington.
Donors purchased the gifts after selecting lists that were hung on Angel Trees.
The bundles were stolen Thursday night.
Salvation Army spokesman Pat Patey said the group had finished its Angel Tree distribution from that site, but eight families hadn't yet picked up their bundles and those were the gifts thieves took.
Patey says each paper angel lists a need item, a wish item and clothing size.
He says that on Wednesday and Thursday, 1,244 families were scheduled to pick up gifts from 14 distribution sites in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Arlington police, who are investigating, say they found no signs of forced entry.
