WACO (August 11, 2012)—A small fire Saturday morning in a warehouse at the Caterpillar plant forced workers to evacuate the building but no one was hurt and damage to the facility was minimal.

Firefighters were called just before 7 a.m. Saturday to the facility in the 2000 block of Texas Central Parkway after an employee pulled an alarm.

The incident commander said later a small gas line had begun leaking and a resulting small fire ignited some plastic track, smoke from which filled the building.

The commander said one machine likely would be out of service for a time but there was no damage to the building and employees returned to work after the smoke was cleared from the building.
