WACO (August 16, 2012)-When AJ Moore Academy merged with University High school this past year, many parents were concerned that former AJ Moore Academy students who ride the bus wouldn't have a ride to their new school
The Waco ISD school board announced Thursday evening that students who used to ride the bus to AJ Moore Academy will now have transportation to University High School.
School board members say it will only cost the district an extra $26,000 dollars to bus former AJ Moore Academy students to University High.
The board tackled a number of other topics on the agenda.
They approved their 2012-2013 employee compensation plan that awards a three and a half percent pay raise to teachers throughout the district.
The board was briefed shortly about failing AYP percentages throughout the district.
However, board members didn't spend much time discussing AYP.
Items that were pulled from the meeting and moved to August 24th's agenda included:
Approving the 2012-2013 WISD Annual Budget
Revising Substitute and Sick Day policies: reducing sick days and/or charging for substitutes if sick days are taken.
Naming Middle School # 4 formerly "AJ Moore Middle School"
