HOUSTON (August 26, 2014) Nearly two-dozen passengers aboard a school bus were hurt Tuesday when the bus veered off road and struck a tree in Houston.
Houston fire officials say the 20 people taken to hospitals for treatment Tuesday morning appeared to have suffered minor injuries.
There were 28 people on the private school bus.
Nearly all appeared to be students who were en route to school, but authorities did not immediately confirm the ages of those involved. The driver was among those transported for treatment.
The front of the bus was crumpled after coming to rest against the tree along the side of a road.
Some on the bus were seen being placed on stretchers.
No other information was immediately available.
