SAN ANTONIO (October 4, 2012)--A school bus plunged about 15 feet off a Texas expressway overpass to the doorstep of a hotel below Thursday, but the child and two adults aboard escaped life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened at around 4:45 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 37 at East Commerce Street on the eastern edge of downtown San Antonio.

San Antonio police Sgt. Javier Salazar said the bus careered through a concrete battier after a collision with a car on the northbound expressway and nosed into the frontage road in front of a Comfort Suites hotel.

Salazar says the adults were taken from the bus to University Medical Center with possible fractures, while the child suffered only minor cuts and bruises.

The driver of the car also was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
