Search Continues For Texas Man Missing After Boating Accident

BENTON, La. (February 9, 2012)--Authorities in Bossier Parish, La., continue to search for an East Texas man who’s been missing since a boating accident Wednesday at the Red River Marina.

Another man who was injured in the accident was airlifted to the LSU hospital with a head injury and hypothermia.

The search for the missing man was suspended Wednesday night but resumed early Thursday.

Bossier Sheriff Office spokesman Lt. Bill Davis said authorities believe the fishermen's boat hit a rock-jetty, or cluster of rocks, throwing them both out of the boat.

The Caddo and Bossier sheriff's offices are involved in the search along with the state Wildlife and Fisheries Department and fire departments from South Bossier and Bienville Parish.

The victims’ names have not been released.
