Shooting At Local Bar Sends Woman, 19, To Local Hospital

WACO (March 2, 2013)—Waco police were investigating Saturday after a late-night shooting at a bar that sent a 19-year-old woman to a local hospital.

The shooting was reported Friday night at Big Daddy’s Bar at 701 Park St., Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Saturday, but officers dispatched to the club weren’t able to find the victim.

A short time later police were notified that the woman was at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where she’d been taken by private vehicle, Swanton said.

Officers determined the woman and her boyfriend got involved in an altercation with several other women at the club during which she was shot in the face.

Her injuries weren’t life threatening, Swanton said.

No arrests have been made.

The woman’s name wasn’t released.
