DALLAS (December 11, 2012)—A meeting evidently set up for a drug deal ended with one man dead of a gunshot wound and another in critical condition, charged with capital murder.
Police say the two men met Monday just before midnight near a Dumpster at a north Dallas apartment complex.
At some point the men, Garrett Branch and Sean Green, exchanged gunfire and Green was hit several times, police said.
Green died at an area hospital.
Several people took Branch to another hospital, police said, and before entering, Branch gave a loaded magazine to a witness and a pistol to another person, who left it near some bushes by the emergency room.
Police later found the magazine and the gun.
Branch, who was charged with capital murder, remained hospitalized Tuesday.
