Rusty Garrett here with the weekend outlook: Saturday, rain stays with us, but should taper off by Sunday, the drier of the two days.
AUSTIN (January 3, 2014) Jesus Rodriguez, 32, was held Friday in the Travis County Jail, charged with murder in a New Year's Eve shooting outside of an Austin hospital that left another man dead.
His bond was set at $250,000.
Rodriguez was arrested after the shooting Tuesday night outside of University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin.
Hospital security personnel said they heard an altercation and then gunshots at around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim, Michael Charles Norwood, 47, died early Wednesday in the hospital’s emergency room.
Officers arrested Rodriguez a short time after the shooting.
Police documents say that Rodriguez said he went to the hospital for back problems and a place to hide from people he thought were trying to kill him, but hospital officials asked Rodriguez to leave.
