Shooting In Local Neighborhood Leaves Man Dead

KILLEEN (February 19, 2011)—A shooting late Saturday morning in a Killeen neighborhood left a man dead.

Gunfire was reported at around 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Cedarhill Dr. in Killeen, where officers found 29 year old Keary Jerrell Flowers.

He was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.

He was pronounced dead at 1:03pm by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

An autopsy was ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

Police were searching for suspects Saturday afternoon.

Streets in the immediate area of the shooting were blocked off as investigators looked for evidence.

Other details weren’t immediately available.

It was the second deadly shooting in five hours Saturday in Killeen.

Officers who responded to a report of gunfire at around 6:45 a.m. in the 200 block of East Garrison found Lynn Wilford, 32, Killeen, shot to death.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
