LEAGUE CITY (August 11, 2014) Six people were killed, including a family of four, when a speeding SUV whose driver was trying to elude police struck another a passenger car at an intersection in League City southeast of Houston.
Juan Garcia Ahuezoteco, 23, fled from officers Sunday night in a Dodge Durango, Dickinson police Capt. Jay Jaekel said.
In League City the he ran a stop sign and the Durango struck a Honda Accord in which four family members were riding.
Rafael Guererro, 41, his wife, Alejandra Guererro, 38 their 15-year-old son, whose name wasn’t immediately released, and the woman's brother, Gilberto Ortega, Jr., all died in the crash
Ahuezoteco and his passenger, Alejandro Molina, also were killed.
The pursuit began after an officer in Dickinson attempted to pull over the Durango because it was operating erratically.
Jaekel says Ahuezoteco was wanted on a felony count of driving while intoxicated.
