SALADO (September 8, 2013) -- The power was knocked out for several businesses and a home in Salado this afternoon after a skydiver landed in some power lines.
When Salado fire officials arrived on scene, the power lines had come down and the skydiver made it out safely.
Firefighters say the skydiver's parachute got tangled up in the power lines causing the lines to fall.
The Salado Volunteer Fire Department was called out to the scene around 4p.m. along the frontage road of northbound I-35 near FM 2115.
The fire department monitored the area while waiting for TU Utility workers to arrive to fix the down line and restore power to the area.
The skydiver was a student with SkyDive Temple, which is the same company that had a skydiver accidentally land on a gas station back in April and was injured.
Salado fire said they've had several problems with the company in the past.
