Slick Roads Cause Accidents Up And Down The Interstate

By: Chris Shadrock Email

WACO (July 7, 2012) - After temperatures climbed into the triple digits, late day thunderstorms caused slick conditions on area roads.

Two different accidents, one in the northbound lanes and the other in the southbound lanes, happened near the Forrest Street exit in Waco.

Traffic backed up as a result, but quickly cleared once police cleared the scene.

As of Saturday night, there was no update on any possible injuries as a result of either accident.

An hour later, down the interstate, an 18-wheeler lost control near the 318-A exit in the southbound lanes.

The truck driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Power outages were also reported as the storms tracked across Central Texas.

According to information on Oncor website at the height of the outages nearly 2,300 homes lost power.
