Slow Road Home For Many Central Texans Due To Traffic

By: Chinh Doan Email

SALADO (November 25, 2012) - Northbound I-35 was at a crawl Sunday afternoon as many Central Texans were headed home from the Thanksgiving holiday.

At least ten car accidents involving more than 40 people were reported in the Salado area on I35 between 3 and 4:30 p.m.

Charles Young, the Salado Fire Chief, says seven happened within five miles of each other, mostly fender-benders. He also said it's the one of the worst days for traffic he's seen in his 15 years of service.

Seven people were taken to the hospital.

DPS Troopers at the scene predicted traffic would be congested throughout the night as people travel home.
