CHINA GROVE (December 11, 2013) The China Grove City Council has voted to disband the small town’s three-person police department and to turn law enforcement over to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
The China Grove City Council voted Monday to suspend Chief Larry Davis and the other two officers indefinitely.
Council members in October voted to add a third officer in the town of 1,200 to help deal with hundreds of un-served warrants.
City officials didn't immediately provide reasons for disbanding the force.
Davis said he wasn't aware of Monday's special council meeting.
Officer Damian Balderas said police are either in the city or out serving warrants and can't do both.
