Police Seize Drugs And Stolen Property After Investigation

WACO (February 9, 2014) Officers with the street crimes unit of the Waco Police Department seized drugs, recovered stolen property and arrested two men Friday after an investigating that led them to a Waco home.

Officers had been conducting surveillance on a suspected drug house on Saturday and after a vehicle left the address, police conducted a traffic stop that eventually yielded a stolen lap top computer and a stolen firearm, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Police arrested the driver, Walter Diamond, 47 and his passenger, Santiago Reyes, 54, at the scene of the stop.

Diamond was ordered held on bonds totaling $50,000, charged with two counts of theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance, according to the online McLennan County Jail log.

Reyes was charged with possession of a controlled substance but had posted a $10,000 bond and been released from custody, a jail records clerk said.
Street crimes officers went back to the suspect’s home and obtained a search warrant for the house located at 3701 Erath.

Once inside officers seized more methamphetamine, marijuana, a third stolen firearm and a television with the serial number removed, Swanton said.

Police are continuing to investigate the case, Swanton said.
