Stretch Of Central Texas Interstate Reopened After Early-Morning Crash

LEON COUNTY (January 23, 2013)—Traffic was flowing again on Interstate 45 in Leon County after an early-morning crash that shut down a stretch of the highway.

Fog may have been a factor in the accident involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck, which happened at around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.

KBTX-TV in Bryan reported that the crash snarled traffic between U.S. Highway 79 and State Highway 164.

Northbound traffic was detoured off the interstate and traffic on the southbound side of the highway was limited to one lane.

There were unconfirmed reports of one death in the accident, but details weren’t immediately available.
