KILLEEN (January 30, 2014) A student was caught with a gun Thursday at Killeen High School, a district spokeswoman confirmed.
The student, who was not identified, was taken into custody and there was no immediate threat to students or staff, the spokeswoman said.
The school was not locked down.
“We received information of a student having a weapon on our campus. Administration took immediate action and investigated and confiscated the weapon,” Killeen High School Principal Susan Buckley said in a letter sent to parents.
“This is an unusual occurrence at our school and one we take very seriously,” she wrote.
