WACO (March 5, 2013)--A Baylor University student was taken to a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after the motor scooter he was riding and a Waco Transit bus collided.
A Waco police officer said at around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday the student was riding his scooter north on University Parks Drive when the bus turned off Daughtrey Avenue and into his path.
The officer said the scooter rider saw the bus and tried to lay the scooter down to avoid a collision, but instead slid under the bus.
The rear tires of the bus ran over his legs, the officer said.
The officer described the injuries as significant.
