CAMERON (February 13, 2014) Raymond Peter Hardeman, 59, who was named in an arrest warrant stemming from a backyard attack in which a Cameron man was stabbed repeatedly, was in custody Thursday.

He was held in the Milam County Jail, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the Jan. 9 attack that left Alvin Brown, 63, injured.

Brown, who was stabbed several times in the attack, was found lying in the back yard of a home in the 1600 block of Crockett in Cameron.

He was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, but has since been released.

Brown was visiting residents on Jan. 9 at the home when he got up and walked out, police said.

The residents said a short time later they went outside and found him lying face down in the yard with multiple stab wounds to the chest.
