Teenage Girl Dies Of Stab Wounds In Suburban Texas Home

ROCKWALL (October 31, 2012)--Police in the Dallas suburb of Rockwall are investigating the death of a 15-year-old girl as a homicide after she was found dead in her home with stab wounds after staying home sick from school.

Rockwall Sgt. Jeff Welch said Wednesday that the girl was last seen alive early Tuesday morning when her mother allowed her to stay home from school because she didn't feel well.

The girl’s mother then went to work, but when she checked on her daughter at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, she found the teenager lying on the bedroom floor.

Welch says police believe the girl, who had stab wounds on her upper torso, died in a "violent altercation."

An autopsy was underway Wednesday.

Welch says there were no signs of a break-in.

Police currently have no suspects.
