BALLINGER (August 1, 2014) Ashley Virden, 17, whom a horse kicked in the head earlier this week, has died, an official said.
Virden was riding Tuesday with her father on their property south of Ballinger when the horse bucked her off and then kicked her in the head, the Runnel County Sheriff's Office said.
She was taken to Shannon Medical Center official where she was pronounced dead on Wednesday.
A family member said the girl's body will remain on life support so her organs can be donated.
Doctors have already found a match for her lungs and possibly for her heart, family members said.
