Teenage Texas Girl’s Confession To Triple Killing Admissible In Trial

NEW BOSTON (December 6, 2012)—A judge has ruled that a Texas teenager's alleged confession in the 2011 deaths of a woman and her two children can be used at trial.

Attorneys Rachel Pittman, 18, sought to have her comments to law officers thrown out, as she faces trial next month in Rusk County in two of the slayings.

Investigators say Pittman was 16 and a juvenile at the time of the deadly May 2011 stabbings.

The bodies of Amanda Doss, 34, Guinevere Doss, 11, and Texas Johnson, 8, were found in their burned home in Redwater.

Wednesday's ruling says Pittman, who'll be tried as an adult, was 17 at the time of the alleged confession.

If convicted of capital murder in the deaths, she would not be eligible for execution because she was a juvenile at the time of the slayings.
