An 18-year-old woman was jailed Friday after a fight over a marshmallow at a homeless camp in Waco ended in a stabbing.

WACO (May 30, 2014) Haley Jones, 18, was in the McLennan County Jail Friday charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a man was stabbed during a fight over marshmallow at a homeless camp in Waco.

Officers responded to the disturbance late Thursday night at the homeless camp between Franklin Avenue and the railroad tracks in the area of South 23rd St.

Officers determined that a man was stabbed with an X-Acto knife during a fight with a woman over the marshmallow, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

The woman was arrested at South 20th Street and Webster Avenue after a short foot chase, Swanton said.

The man, who was not identified, didn’t require medical treatment.
