WACO (March 11, 2013)--A Waco teenager who was convicted of robbery in January pleaded guilty to three more robberies and a burglary Monday morning.
Alexis Bo Perez, 19, pleaded guilty in 19th District Court to aggravated robberies at Papa John's Pizza, 5900 Bosque Blvd., a Skinny's convenience store on Sanger Avenue and a Chesalon store on North 19th Street, all of which were reported within a 24-hour period.
He also pleaded guilty to a residential burglary.
State District Judge Ralph Strother sentenced Perez to serve 36 years on each count, plus 20 years on the one count of burglary, and ordered all to be served concurrently with the 36-year sentence Perez received after he was convicted in January.
Perez was convicted earlier this year in the September 2011 armed robbery of a Domino’s Pizza in the 1400 block of Wooded Acres Drive.
But the judge declared a mistrial in the original punishment deliberation because the jury could not reach a verdict.
Jurors appeared to be deadlocked in the second deliberation of punishment, which would have forced a second mistrial in the punishment phase of the trial, but after a short break the jury announced it had reached a unanimous verdict.
